Water Allocation Plans

Provided below are links to the Water Allocation Plan (WAP) information on the regional natural resources management board websites.

Currently the Alinytjara Wilurara and Kangaroo Island natural resources management regions do not have any prescribed water resources, nor any notices of prohibition/restriction or notices of intent to prescribe on any of their water resources.

Adelaide and Mount Lofty Ranges NRM Board

  • Barossa WAP  
  • Central Adelaide Plains WAP
    A water allocation plan is currently being drafted for this area.
  • Chapmans Creek Intake Prescribed Watercourse
    Managed under the Water Resources (Penrice Exemption) Regulation 1997.
  • Dry Creek Prescribed Wells Area
    Managed under the Water Resources (Penrice Exemption) Regulation 1997.
  • Little Para River Prescribed Watercourse
    To be included in the Western Mount Lofty Ranges Plan.
  • McLaren Vale WAP
  • Middle Beach Intake Prescribed Watercourse
    Managed under the Water Resources (Penrice Exemption) Regulation 1997.
  • Northern Adelaide Plains WAP
    This water allocation plan is currently being amended.
  • Northern Intake Prescribed Watercourse
    Managed under the Water Resources (Penrice Exemption) Regulation 1997.
  • Western Mount Lofty Ranges Prescribed Water Resources Area
    Will incorporate McLaren Vale Prescribed Wells Area and Little Para Prescribed Watercourses. Consultation on this draft plan ended on 10 January 2011 and the Board is currently considering all submissions.  For more information visit the board’s website.

South East NRM Board

  • Comaum-Caroline Prescribed Wells Area
    This water allocation plan is under review and will be incorporated into the Lower Limestone Coast Prescribed Wells Area.
  • Hundred of Laffer
  • On 23 September 2010, the Minister for Environment and Conservation published a notice in the Government Gazette stating that the regulation proposed to prescribe the wells in the Hundred of Laffer will not be made at this time.
  • Lacepede Kongorong Prescribed Wells Area
    This water allocation plan is under review and will be incorporated into the Lower Limestone Coast Prescribed Wells Area.
  • Lower Limestone Coast WAP
    Will incorporate Comaum-Caroline, Lacepede Kongorong and Naracoote Ranges Prescribed Wells Areas. A water allocation plan is currently being drafted for this area.
  • Morambro Creek and Nyroca Channel Prescribed Watercourses including Cockatoo Lake and the Prescribed Surface Area WAP
  • Naracoorte Ranges Prescribed Wells Area
    This water allocation plan is under review and will be incorporated into the Lower Limestone Coast Prescribed Wells Area.
  • Padthaway WAP
  • Tatiara WAP
  • Tintinara Coonalpyn WAP
