The Premier of South Australia recently announced a Government restructure, placing an even greater emphasis on South Australia’s water resource management and water reform initiatives.
Effective 1 July 2010, South Australia has a new Department for Water, led by Scott Ashby as Chief Executive.

The environment in South Australia’s South East is reaping the benefits of a major new drainage and floodway system which is diverting valuable fresh water into previously parched wetlands.
The Department of Environment, Water and Natural Resources (DEWNR) initiative, known as the REFLOWS Project, is restoring natural flow paths to deliver water to high biodiversity value wetlands and watercourses in the Upper South East.
